half way there!

Today I completed a 13 miler.. a halfmarathon. The weather was ok, not hot, a bit humid, nothing like last Sunday though.. I wasn't really timing myself, even walked for 5 mins in between, but I timed around 2:15.. am sure the timing'll get better in the coming weeks.

Last Sunday was one of the worst weathers in a long long time, it was at Princeton, I ended up doing just 10 miles, which was good in retrospect as the weather was really bad. Despite that, around 4 people in our group did 13 miles which was quite impressive. If I rewind back 2 months and think about running 10 miles, it would have seemed an impossible task, and now I felt I did "just 10 miles".. funny!
During the week I ran just on Wednesday - 5 miles - at Univ Park.
This week I need to be more regular with my schedule.

The coming Sunday is going to be 15 miles. Now that will be quite a milestone...

aug 9th - 5 miles

Yesterday finally I kindof recovered from my cold and to add to it, the weather was wonderful. Cool and not the least bit humid.
I ran 5 miles (11 laps) at Univ Park, and it was a refreshing run after my ill week.
My immediate target/milestone now is to complete a half-marathon this Sunday. Hopefully (if my cold does not reappear) I should be able to do it!

Update of ill week

Last week I was not feeling well most of the week, with cold and throatache, so my marathon training was extremely sporadic.
Wednesday 3rd August - 6 laps (Univ Park)
Sunday 7th August - 8 miles (Princeton trail)
On Sunday I was supposed to do 12 miles, just like last week, and I was not feeling well so I thought instead of skipping the run, I should atleast do a smaller distance. The fact that I already had a 12 miler under my belt helped! So I did 8 miles..
Now my cold has almost gone, so this week should be back to normal training...
